Thursday Thoughts

Happy Thursday everyone! I’m pretty excited about today because I have a HALF DAY at work!!! Haha remember back when you were little and had random half days at school? I loved those days, we got nothing done! Well today my supervisor and some other people from my office are going to a baseball game! It was so sweet of my supervisor to invite me, and I’m excited to get to know some of these people outside the office!

I hope you all also have a great Thursday! And to help, I’ll leave you with some Thursday Thoughts:

1. How cool is this? She made raw ravioli with beets! Very pretty, although I’m not sure how well it would stay together…

2.  Hahahahaha I saw this and loved it. I HATE burpees with a passion. I’d rather run 10 miles than do an hour of a bootcamp workout any day. It’s just not my kind of activity…

Doesn't mean we won't do them....lot's of them!

3. I’ve been using a pedometer! I got it ages ago and forgot about it. I’m a big numbers person so I thought it would be fun to see how far I walk in a day. Although I keep forgetting to wear it, or I’ll wear something at work where it would be super obvious to see… I try and make it consistent so rather than putting it on right when I get up (since some days I run), I put it on as I’m leaving my apartment for work. So far here’s what I’ve gotten:

June 7th – 2.49 miles (forgot to write down steps)

June 11th – 2.22 miles, 4716 steps

June 12th – 3.39 miles, 7186 steps (walked a mile to Whole Foods this day)

June 13th – 2.45 miles, 5189 steps

I really like doing this because it reminds me to get up and move rather than just sit at my desk all day!

4. How adorable is this dress? Like a a 4th of July party or summer picnic? Although all those pleats probably wouldn’t be flattering on my body type. But still, a girl can dream.

love love love

Just clicked on the picture to see where you can buy it… It’s a children’s dress. Really!?!? I would so wear this.

5. HAHAHAHAHA Omg, story of my life!!! This happens way too often. My closet becomes a war zone in the morning.

ugh

6. I’ve decided I need a race “sponsor.” No, I don’t come anywhere near placing, but there are soooo many races I want to do, but I just don’t have $35 or $80 here and there to spend on a fun race! Ahhhhhh. One day. Haha, one day I will have a job that actually pays me money.

7. I love these quick workouts that you can do right when you wake up, or before dinner or something. Now if only I knew what a Russian Twist was…

Healthy = Happy

8. How delicious does this spanish potato omelette look? ahhhhh I want to eat it now. For breakfast. Who is going to come make it for me?

9. Here is a GROWN UP dress that I also thought was really cute, I love the color! Although personally I’d add an inch or two to that hemline… haha I can see a wardrobe malfunction happening there. I also wouldn’t make that face the model is making…

Peppermint!

10. And now, to send you on your way:

Mission for today

Oh, and one last quick announcement: I’M GOING TO THE HEALTHY LIVING SUMMIT!!!! Who else is going?!?

Do you ever see children’s clothes that you would totally wear if it came in your size?

Who else destroys their closet/room while trying to find something to wear?

YAY!!! Can’t wait to meet you!! I’m going to HLS too!! My room/closet is always destroyed… My biggest problem is not putting clothes away after I wear them!

  2. June 14, 2012 6:46 am

I HATE burpees! Hands down my least favorite exercise. Both of those dresses are adorable!

  3. June 14, 2012 7:46 am

    That pink dress is adorable!!
I am ashamed to admit that I have no clue what a burpee is, but everyone in blog world seems to hate them too

It’s a plyometric move where you jump down into plank, jump your legs in to where you’re squatting, and then jump up into the air!

that “spanish potato omelet” is actually what people in Spain call a “tortilla” cool, huh? they don’t even have the other kind of tortilla that we know of. they are soooo good and sometimes have other veggies inside.

I sometimes walk by the kid’s section at Target and find myself wishing something on the rack came in my size 🙂 I have too much love for bows and ruffles!

  6. June 14, 2012 8:35 am

I once saw a t-shirt I thought was a kid’s shirt, only to find out it was a woman’s XS. As someone who is, uh, well-endowed up top I couldn’t stop laughing at the absurdity of a t-shirt size that small!

  7. June 14, 2012 8:37 am

i’m loving pretty much everything here!! BOTH of those dresses are so adorable. you could totally pull off both of them! i reaaaaallly wish i could go to HLS with you! 😦

  8. June 14, 2012 8:45 am

I love burpees! I would give them a Thumbs up on FB! lol, my bootcampers aren’t the biggest fans of course though.

  9. June 14, 2012 8:51 am

Hahaha I can’t believe that is a children’s dress!! I feel like a lot of kid’s clothes today look more like adult ones…just in tiny sizes. Hope you have a great Thursday love!

I laughed out loud because I was totally excited about that chevron dress, until I clicked on it and realized it was a kid’s dress! I guess I could order it for my daughter and live vicariously through her 🙂

I was at a department store in England and saw a kids L burberry shirt dress that I just loved. It buttons but definitely doesnt cover my 5’7″ frame so I wear it with leggings and tall leather boots. I always get so many compliments and people asking where to get their own. I’ve always just said, oh it must be a limited edition London thing. 😉

  12. June 14, 2012 11:47 am

My room is a complete war zone after I deciding what to wear for a night out or a first date. There’s no way around it! I absolutely love those dresses!

  13. June 14, 2012 1:50 pm

I ALWAYS see the cutest kids clothing at Target! Sometimes I check to see if there’s an XL that might fit me 🙂

    • June 14, 2012 7:51 pm

haha I used to do that all the time

    • June 14, 2012 11:14 pm

exactly! that’s where i got one of my footy pajamas… the other 2 were from the little boys section in target, cooler patterns!

  14. June 14, 2012 1:53 pm

I totally buy the largest kids’ sizes in Nordstrom’s ….SO much cheaper. Haha 😉

YAY for going to HLS! That is exciting!

  15. June 14, 2012 3:17 pm

  18. June 14, 2012 6:53 pm

  19. June 14, 2012 7:18 pm

I’ll be at the healthy living summit toooo! I agree with you no one likes burpees haha.

  20. June 14, 2012 9:15 pm

This is my first HLS, and I am SO excited to meet you and everyone else!

  22. June 14, 2012 11:12 pm

i was wondering what a russian twist is as well…
i have a love/hate relationship with burpees. they are definitely an exercise that you can tell when you’re making progress and getting better, faster with them. and that aspect i like. when i was training with circuits of these, i felt like a rockstar after banging out a ton of them! been meaning to get back to them, though starting from the ground up again is not appealing…
oh and yes i want basically all the little girls clothes i see at target. sometimes i try them on, things like hoodies! i love the harajuku mini of course, because i love gwen’s harajuku line!
