I Wonder if They Stayed…

April 27, 2012

Hey Everyone! Guess what? You made it to Friday! Congrats!

I think each and every one of you deserves one of these:

cake cake cake cake cake cake

No, no. Your eyes are not deceiving you. That is a rainbow cake in a jar. You think oats in a jar are cool? Um this is so neat!!!! People are so creative on pinterest… Unfortunately, I do not have the time or resources to make and send them all out. So you might have to ask someone else…

Yesterday I had a couple interesting things happen. First, I discovered one of the perils of traveling through downtown Chicago:

Yes. I was late to class. Only by a minute though!

Secondly, I realized I hadn’t used my free Fro-yo last week! I kept putting it off hoping to go with someone, but then I realized that the new week began today (Friday) so I just HAD to go use it. Here’s my froyo after digging in:

Lessons learned? Don’t get flavors you “think you remember liking” last time you tried them… Key lime pie? YUCK. I ate around it and tossed it… Never making that mistake again.

Also, this whole free froyo thing is WAY more official than I anticipated. When I handed the cashier the card she looked really confused and called over her manager. He (with his mohawk) got very excited, and pulled out a binder from beneath the counter! He gave me a form to sign my name on with my official number and then marked that week off. Every time I go in now, I have to show them my ID, they match it to the number on my card, and mark me off for coming in that week in the binder. REALLY!?!? Haha these people take their frozen yogurt very seriously.

Another fun thing? Looking at my blog statistics when I’m bored. No, I’m not obsessing over my pageviews, but I do LOVE numbers. I’m a freak. However, one of my favorite things to look at are search terms…

When I look at the statistics on my blog, one thing that wordpress shows me are the search terms that people used and ended up finding my blog. Most of them are pretty normal, like “peace love oats” or asking about certain oatmeal recipes or fitness things. However, some of them are pretty weird… Like really weird.

I often wonder how these searches lead them to my blog, and most of all, did they take a look around? Did they keep reading? I will never know. But I will share with you some of the funny search terms that have been used:

– Fit asian girl legs
– real snoopy
– love balls insert pic
<—not even sure where they were going with this…
– bat dog picture homeward bound
– shut the front doorr shoes
<—No, I did not spell that incorrectly, their spelling…
– budlight decorations
– i decided to go with my friends camping in the forest
– chopped my hair off
– no soup for you
– how to say crepe
<—Maybe google heard I took French growing up?
– cartoon food clip art that has faces

And I leave you with this image that I saw on Running Around Normal yesterday (I died laughing when I read this):

(yes, it’s a Hunger Games joke)

What do you think of the random search terms? Are you one of the people who found me that way? Haha

What are the best and worst frozen yogurt flavors you’ve ever tried?

I frequently get people who search my sister’s full name! My maiden last name (still her last name) is quite hard to spell, & actually her first name is sort of unusual too, so it always makes me laugh to see that.. she must have a stalker! 😉

    • April 27, 2012 10:39 am

someone searched my best friend’s name with our college and got here! Haha didn’t want to put that on the list. HAha and maybe she does have a stalker! weird!

I think I’m going to have to give into frozen yogurt cravings and just deal with the stomach pains. I seriously want some so badly!!!

  3. April 27, 2012 6:28 am

I check my search terms sometimes too…some of them are so random! Still jealous of your free frozen yogurt :)!

Those are hilarious!! I wish I could say I was one of those searches, but I’m not nearly as creative as some of those!
    Happy Friday!!! 🙂

wow!! That is s funny…and so weird that people actually search for things like that!! how entertaining though to look at. My favorite frozen yogurt flavors are peanut butter, thin mint, angel food cake and pumpkin spice..but I have a lot of other flavors I still need to try. I need to get frozen yogurt asap!

    • April 27, 2012 10:42 am

Use the taste cups! Haha I taste just about every flavor before making my decision!

That is PROBABLY the coolest jar I’ve ever seen. The fav search term someone found my blog with (all time) was “apartment smells like farts” … hahaha!

  8. April 27, 2012 8:10 am

Ohmygosh that jar cake looks SO cool and so good! I probably don’t have the patience to make it though haha 🙂 those search terms are pretty funny too! My favorite froyo flavor of all time was this malted easter egg flavor they had around Easter! I don’t know what it was about it, but it was deeeelicious

  9. April 27, 2012 8:11 am

Haha LOVE the search terms that send people to blogs. Always makes me laugh. Happy Friday!

  10. April 27, 2012 8:39 am

hahahaha i love that picture! definitely made me crack up this morning! 🙂

  11. April 27, 2012 9:28 am

Oh my gosh! I laughed at those search terms. I found you via chocolate covered katie. 🙂

In other news I now NEED to make a rainbow cake in a jar.

So as a vegan I really am out of the frozen yogurt loop. It has been so long since I have had frozen yogurt that I can’t even remember what I tried. But my guess is, I wasn’t very willing to branch out much beyond chocolate and vanilla.

    LOL = hunger games joke.

    • April 27, 2012 10:48 am

Ahhh I love CCK! And you should check out some froyo places, most have some dairy-free options!

  12. April 27, 2012 9:50 am

ahahah for some reason “no soup for you” made me laugh so hard! Also, I love the hunger games joke – Leonardo DiCaprio + Hunger Games = Ahhhmazing!

  13. April 27, 2012 10:12 am

I love looking at the search terms that lead to my blog too – some of them are just so weird! I’ve even tried putting those words into google to see if I could find my blog that way, but no dice. So random!

  14. April 27, 2012 10:22 am

LAUGHING out loud!! Haha. Love those search terms–that is hilarious.

    And the Hunger Games joke–hilarious.

I want that card of yours 🙂

  15. April 27, 2012 10:36 am

I love the search terms – so funny! Favorite fro yo – too many to count, but I really like vanilla wafer from Yogurt Land! Happy Friday!

  16. April 27, 2012 11:12 am

OMG those rainbow cakes in a jar are pure torture for me on a Friday afternoon!!! Best frozen yougurt that I had is from a small yogurt cafe in Soho NYC, they have so many great flavors!! And the worst actually was last Saturday from ColdStone, don;t get me wrong, I love, LOVE their icecreams, but the chocolate frozen yogurt tasted like a mixture of chocolate whey protein with water and sugar!

  17. April 27, 2012 11:40 am

the picture drew me in, gosh love the colors. my favorite had to be raspberry cheesecake or this white macadamia vanilla or pumpkin. (can you tell I have a hard time picking a favorite?) least… pomegranate, which kind of killed me because I love pomegranates (I swear I have a shirt just for when I eat them because it is permanently stained) but the froyo flavor was yuck. When step in a froyo shop I am immediately turned into the most indecisive person around, I feel like I need to get or try every flavor and every topping. Dilemma to say the least.

    • April 27, 2012 1:36 pm

um, white macadamia vanilla!?!? That sounds amazing. Haha and I’m with you on the pomegranate… Just can’t get myself to love it. And I try almost every flavor every time, even if I’ve been there several times before… totally necessary.

  18. April 27, 2012 11:45 am

Haha I wouldn’t care HOW Seriously they took it, as long as I got my free fro yo 😉 Haha

That’s a bummer the flavor wasn’t good though. I already talked my boyfriend into taking me to SweetFrog tonight, so I’m excited!

Good luck at Lakefront 10 tomorrow!

    • April 27, 2012 1:43 pm

Definitely!!! Haha I’ll have plenty of free time when I get back from KC for the summer and I’ll need someone to go with me to get my free froyo! We’ll have to set something up!!!

  21. April 27, 2012 1:06 pm

LOL! Some businesses get so hyper over coupons. I guess there’s a lot of scammers out there?
    Thanks for the shoutout!

    • April 27, 2012 1:43 pm

Apparently!! Haha I was like, how many forms of ID do you need?! Should I bring my birth certificate??

Every time you put up a froyo update, I start shaking for the stuff. Love it!

    • April 27, 2012 6:52 pm

Haha I do too! I almost went this afternoon just because everyone kept commenting about froyo and I couldn’t get it out of my head!

  23. April 27, 2012 10:30 pm
