11 Things… Again

February 9, 2012

Hey everyone! Chelsey tagged me in the 11 things survey. I’ve already done it once before, so this time I thought I’d just answer her 11 questions! BUT, before we do that, I wanted to share something really cool with all of you!

Has anyone ever heard of Birchbox?

I cannot remember where I first heard of it, but it’s a company that sends you a little box full of beauty samples, from hair products, nail products, skin products, etc. Anything and everything! I ordered a box ages ago, back in December, but it never came! I contacted the company and they finally sent me another. I was so excited to get it!

I actually had them send it to my brother’s apartment, just in case the issue was with my address or someone in my building taking the box.

Here’s the box inside the box:

And all my samples!

They include a list of what is inside your box, explaining exactly what everything is. You can even go onto the website and buy the products if there is something you really enjoyed! You also fill out a survey before you get your box about your beauty habits and things like hair color and skin tone, that way it is more customized to you!

Birchboxes are also great gifts! I got my friend a 3 month gift subscription for Christmas, and so far she loves it!

Now, onto the 11 things survey. And thank you for tagging me, Chelsey!

Chelsey’s Questions:

Chocolate or Vanilla? Vanilla. I love chocolate, but I will almost always pick vanilla over chocolate!

What would you do with 1 million dollars? Weirdly, I was discussing what I’d do if I won the lottery with my brother the other day (apparently there’s some show about it he watches). I would 1) pay off my law school loans and pay for the last year, 2) TRAVEL and 3) be boring and put the rest into savings to use later in life, but then also giving myself an allowance for things like new clothes and running gear!

Where is your favorite place to buy groceries? Trader Joe’s. Whole Foods is great for specialty stuff and it’s fun to go to, but I don’t know if I could survive without my MUCH CHEAPER TJ’s. haha.

What is your biggest fear? Hmm… Probably never falling in love. Little deep for this early in the morning…

What is the last book you read? I’m currently reading Little Bee, but the last book I finished was Brave New World. Not a fan…

Favorite movie? Pride and Prejudice and Ever After. Can’t choose. I could watch both over and over and over and never get tired of them.

What do you see yourself doing in 5 years? Being married, having a career that I hopefully love, and making some sort of difference in the world. Oh, and running the Pike’s Peak Marathon.

Romantic or comedy movie? Can I choose a romantic comedy? Haha probably romantic, since a lot of the comedies these days aren’t my style.

Last dream you remember? This is too much pressure. I can’t remember right now!!! I rarely remember dreams though…

Have you ever been in a car accident? Hmmm not a real car accident. I tapped the bumper of someone at a stoplight when I was in High School, that’s about it! Lucky girl!

What is the longest friendship you have ever had? Um, not sure about this. I have a couple friends who I’ve been in school with since I was 2, 2 of which I may have met before then at the pool at our Country Club or on play-dates. So we’re talking at least 22 years for my friends Caroline and Helen!

What do you think of the Birchbox idea? Would you pay $10 for a customized box of samples?

YOUR turn! Answer one of Chelsey’s questions! I’d love to learn more about you all!

I’ve heard of Birchboxes before! Looks neat – and nice that they sent you another box since you never got yours!

I know, it was nice of them to replace it! I was a little freaked out since I spent the money on it as an xmas gift to myself and then it never came!

It seems like everyone is talking about Birchbox lately. I may need to check it out myself! It looks like you received some good stuff.

    • February 9, 2012 11:58 am

I loved it because it was things I would have never bought for myself, but so fun to try out!

Love BirchBox! In fact, I got the same stuff you did in mine. I love the dry shampoo they included. It’s fun to get something in the mail each month 🙂

I haven’t tried the dry shampoo yet! But yes, I love the new items that I would have never bought for myself!

Your #2 is smart! Some, or most, people just blow through lotto money!

Last dream I remember: Tom Brady told me that he loved me and wanted to be with me…I don’t even really like Tom Brady like that!! It was very weird. All of the pre-Super Bowl talk must have placed him in my mind. haha

I love the Birchbox concept! $10 for a box of samples? Yes, please! I like to try out new products before I commit to them, and wish more companies offered mini-sizes. 🙂 The pink lip gloss looks luscious!

I am so with you on the chocolate/vanilla question…LOVE chocolate, but for some reason, when I have to choose between the two, I almost always go with vanilla–especially when it comes to ice cream and milkshakes. 🙂

Ahhhh LOVE EVer After! SUch a great movie!

I usually go chocolate, UNLESS it’s ice cream–then it’s vanilla all the way baby!

    Great 11 things!

Thats really cool, I’d definitely pay $10 to get a custom box of samples!

The last GOOD book I read was South of Broad by Pat Conroy… definitely check it out!

    • February 9, 2012 5:39 pm

Haha I’m glad I’m not ridiculous with this $10 for samples things! I figured, that’s like two starbucks drinks anyway! And I will add that book to my list!

Ohhh I love thinking about what I’d do with a million dollars (or if I won the lottery!). Right now I’d be boring and mainly pay for school next year for dietetics, but I’d definitely also go on an awesome vacation 🙂

  10. February 9, 2012 10:04 pm

I’ve never heard of Brichbox, it sounds pretty awesome! I’ll have to check that out 🙂 Great chose of Nivea chapstick!!! I have the same, it’s yummy 🙂

I’ve heard of Birchbox it’s a really cool concept.

I totally agree with you on the Trader Joe’s front – I don’t know how I survived without it before and what I would do if I moved somewhere there wasn’t one! and I love Ever After too! 🙂

Haha one of my biggest (okay, maybe not BIGGEST) fears about moving to Denver is no trader joe’s! The closes is 6 hours away!
